The seismic upgrading and energy efficiency improvement works of the “Don Giussani” middle school, carried out by Torelli Dottori S.p.A. in the Monticelli district of Ascoli Piceno, involved the comprehensive refurbishment of an existing school building. From a structural standpoint, extensive strengthening interventions were carried out on the load-bearing elements, particularly on columns and floor slabs, alongside the reorganization of internal layouts and teaching spaces.
In addition, the works involved the building envelope, including façade refurbishment, replacement of windows and doors, and interventions on the roofs, aimed at improving thermal insulation and reducing energy consumption. The project also included the complete upgrading of the interior spaces and the modernization of building systems, resulting in functional, accessible environments compliant with current regulatory standards, ensuring high levels of comfort and quality for educational activities.
